Unfortunately they only sell barbacoa on the weekend but i make sure i get atleast 2 pounds every weekend theyre tacos in general are very delicious and they have the best doughnuts ive ever eaten in my life theyre so soft when theyre still warm i always go here for tacos great place and very great staff

Great Breakfast Tacos and Pastries! Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a hand rolled flour tortilla hit the spot. Also had the Avocado & Flour tortilla, and was just like home!!!! MmmmmAlso picked up an apple fritter which was very large, and delicious. Just a hint of Apple, and cooked to to a Carmel color. The cinnamon roll donut tasted almost the same, but with out the hint of apple. Both very delicious. I would come back for sure.

Caution today, went through drive-thru for tacos and donuts and witnessed a teen male employee working donut counter with no face mask filling orders. To be fair, all other employees were wearing face masks but teen male did not place mask on until customers expressed concerns.

Country & egg tacos are perfect. The best place I have had them so far. Their doughnuts were very good also. Would highly recommend trying The Original Donut Shop for a large variety of tacos and really good doughnuts.

Foods alright. Service is terrible though. Waited an hour for "curbside pickup". Finally ended up pulling around to the drive-thru and they didnt have the donut I ordered. Instead they just gave me some coconut that nobody orders and was left over. I saw another reviewer mention her husband didnt speak Spanish and the lady was surprised that she did and that they seemed prejudice. Sad to say but its probably true. I'm clearly not full Hispanic and dont speak Spanish but my mother does. I was the only car who ordered pick up and no one ever came out even after I had texted the number provided. Everyone else got their food within 10-15 mins of pulling up. I didnt want to assume it was because of that but unfortunately it seems like it was.

They were very sweet. They take your order outside whether you walk up or are in your car and you can pay with cash or card. 10/10 will go again.

Really love this place since moving to San Antonio, delicious tacos and donuts! My issue is with the lack of organization in the to-go lines, apparently you can now order tacos and donuts in both lines. There's also the ability to order pick-up online but you can't order unless you reach a certain minimum! On top of that, my call-in orders are always missing something: salsas, tacos and today it was the donuts. Poor communication and inattention to detail has me looking for other taco places in the city.

I’d share a photo of the tacos before I ate them but I forgot...bottom line, this is a legit 5 star shop that’s got the fresh baked goods to keep you fueled like a true San Antonian

Just the fact that they are hand made tortillas gives this a thumbs up from me and my family. Tacos were delicious, as was the soup. The donuts were fresh and hot and some of the best I've ever eaten, I eat no sweets whatever but I'd eat a donut from here!

Just went for breakfast today, 3/14/20. As usual the food was good & the wait wasn't long. And of course the luxury of having fresh donuts to choose from is a plus.

Ordered quezo & chips, bean and cheese and bacon/egg/cheese tacos at lunch. Beans were perfectly textured, though, under flavored. If you like thick tortillas, this is the place. Bacon was perfect, egg looked & tasted over cooked. Queso was neon orange & uber salty but just the right spice. Over all great price, quick meal, friendly employees. If we happen to be in the area, we'd stop by again.

Exceptional customer service!! I went there the first time to pick up my curbside taco order with donuts as well. For some reason there was a confusion with the online order since I didn’t receive our drinks but once I mentioned it the waitress quickly resolved it and was super nice! Then I realized I ordered the wrong type of donuts and she was able to correct it in no time and even included an extra donut. She was amazing and definitely will be placing my future taco and donut orders here! Food was super delicious!!

Love the food completely. Why 3 stars? The drive thru line. Before the pandemic it was already a long line and now it’s out of control. Cars are allowed to cut into the donuts line and No one comes out to correct it. When you’ve waited in line for 30 minutes to get a taco, trust me, it matters.

The tacos themselves are good. They are ok, worth it for me to sit in the drive thru for 45 minutes? No. I have ordered twice from there and both times they messed up my order. The 2nd time I used delivery service and they gave the driver someone else's order. I had to pay the delivery fee and still had to get the food myself because of the restaurant's mistake. Did they offer anything to make up for at least the delivery fee? No. I had to ask if I could at least have an extra cinnamon twist for my troubles. The guy was nice and gave me 2 extra. Overall...i won't be ordering their again.

Amazing Tacos and/or donuts. Really your pick won't be wrong. Coffee is standard fair, but that's not what you're coming here for. Get here early or be ready to wait!

Food is Amazing. Cooked Fresh. You can see them making Homemade Tortillas (The BEST).And the have Fresh Donuts. Its a MUST place to EAT. They have "2" Drive Thru Lanes. Call in Available and CURB side Pick Up.They had 3 different people helping the Curb side Orders.

I ordered a Potato and chorizo taco and felt the portion of chorizo and potato was not adequate to the size of the tortilla. Very disappointing to say the least.

COME ON PPL, BEST DONUTS AND BREAKFAST TACOS IN ANTONIO. CANT GET THIS COMBINATION BETTER ANYWHERE ELSE. This place is definitely a community establishment. They’re not trying to be anything more than they are, but you can tell from the moment you walk in that this place is quintessential San Antonio, fitting in perfectly amongst the strip mall lifestyle and family-centered Saturdays. Stop by for a delicious breakfast and a good dose of countdown city.

Great little spot for breakfast and donuts! Come early though, the lines will be long but the wait is well worth it! I always order the chilaquiles, my husband orders huevos rancheros and both are very good. This place is also very well known for having the best breakfast tacos in town. Must try!

Saw a news report and was motivated to visit. It is a real locals type of place. The tortillas were hand made and the donuts were awesome.

Wow! Excellent Mexican food!! The tortilla soup will make you slap your grandma, it's so good. Small place, very busy. But, they are quick and accurate with the orders. You will not be disappointed. This is dynamite in a small package. Prices are reasonable and portions are very good!

Great donuts. Tacos were good as well service was quick and the guy at the window was super friendly. Get a bacon bean and cheese if you haven't before.

Only reason it got 2 stars was because of the coffee being nice and hot. The tacos ordered were the typical San Antonio formula of being over seasoned and covered up with cheese. Bacon and Egg taco was greasy and can tell was sitting in its own pool of bacon fat. The papas rancheras was mushy and had no integrity.

We have been here twice for breakfast and their donuts are so good! Their tacos are also delicious. Great friendly service. Excited to try their dinner. Highly recommend.

The lines are ALWAYS super long and be prepared to wait,even if you preorder for pick up. And with that being mentioned. It is a super awesome place! The tacos are good the doughnut are even BETTER. IMO the doughnuts alone are worth the lines and waiting.

Lots of people have already mentioned the hand-made tortillas, but let me tell you that it really makes a difference. The tortilla is softer, fluffier, and just makes the taco that much better. We had both tacos and donuts - while the variety of taco is pretty extensive, the donuts are limited to basic varieties like glazed, powdered, cinnamon sugar, etc. Coffee is just Folgers, so don't expect anything fancy. It is kept super hot, and that's all that really matters.

This is one of the first thing must haves I have when I have been away from SA for a bit or one of the first things I order when I am hosting visitors. Be prepared or a car long to order - but it moves quickly and is well worth it ! Bean and cheese is my favorite but Barbacoa on the weekends with their menudo and Big Red special IS TO DIE FOR ! They also take cards now - so you don’t need cash

Flour tortillas made by hand, good Mexican food options made fresh in small batches. Daily lunch options. I have been going to this place since 1985 and remains as good as when I started going. Donuts are always fresh.

I ordered 2 bean and cheese tacos for my son and a bacon and egg plate for myself. What I received was 2 bean tacos for my son and a bacon and egg taco for myself. The egg didn't taste fresh and I was very disappointed, in my opinion this restaurant is overrated. The donuts I can't say anything bad about, always great donuts.

I specifically asked if there were 2 of everything I wanted and instead of being told that no they didn't after being assured they did I got stuck with some donuts no one will eat in my home. Literally was told I'll give you free donuts just so I could get outta the way. The girl could've come back to my truck and told me what selection was left but no and now have wasted money.

Best tacos in town, been going to ODS for years and it’s still the best. The lunch specials are on point too, $5.50 for a Mexican Plate... tell me who has a better deal with food this good!

I LOVE THEIR TACOS!! Been coming here since 2015 and got hooked on this place ever since. Tacos andddd donuts??! What could be better than that? Tortillas make or break my tacos and I love that their tortillas are homemade (you can see them making it right in front of you) and they taste amazing!! I always get a barbacoa taco and a variety of breakfast tacos. They also toast the tacos if you request it! Side note/tip: I don’t know if this is an official thing but say you want a chorizo/potato/egg taco, the way you order it makes a difference. If you say “chorizo and egg, add potato”, your taco will come out with chorizo mixed with egg and the potato is added on top. I prefer “chorizo and potato, add egg”.. your taco will have the chorizo and potato together with egg added on top. For some reason the later taste better than the dirt option 🤷🏻‍♀️

Breakfast tacos and donuts are a magical combination. The prices are good and the food is delicious.

They’ve become my go-to for quick dozen donuts to take to work functions so today I wanted to try ordering tacos for a large work breakfast. I ordered 100 tacos yesterday afternoon and my total was $200 after taxes. You can’t beat that! The tacos are DELISH and everyone was thrilled. I picked them up this morning and they brought them out to my truck packaged so nicely. I can’t say enough, this place is amazing. EVERYTHING is soooo good!

I visited The Original Donut Shop today for the first time and the food and donuts were quite good. The thing I didn't like about the place is that the line to place your order goes right in front of the area where you pick up your food so it can be a bit inconvenient.Coffee here is self-serve so there are two machines where you can get your coffee from. The line, if long enough also goes right in front of the coffee machines so it can also be inconvenient and potentially hazardous to get a cup of coffee. I say this because there were families in line with children and at least when I was there, some of them were running around the line area carelessly. I think the coffee machines should be relocated to the dining area and away from the line area to minimize the risk of a spill.Other than that, the restaurant is definitely a nice place to dine.

So today was our first time visiting this location. Yes the wait was about 20 minutes but that to be expected bc of covid. Homemade flour tortillas just like my grandmother’s. Donuts were spot on but the MVP was the Apple Fritter! Also the eclairs were awesome. Chorizo and bean and avacodo taco was simple but great. Honestly we spent way to much bc we ordered a lot to try different things. Well worth the stop while in San Antonio. I guess it took me back to my childhood years because of the freshness. Not a tourist trap like Riverwalk good. If you want Tex-Mex go somewhere else! This will be a stop for us when in South Texas!

Got my flaky and just enuf sweet goodness box of donuts! This place is sure not to be missed. Lunch time was jam-packed with lot of people. I tasted the bean and cheese tacos too and true to its reviews , it was really tasty

Tortillas are the real deal, refried beans are so good. Daily lunch specials. Best to go during the week when it's not so crowded. Great food and atmosphere.

This place has some of the best doughnuts and breakfast tacos around !! They are so hot n fresh. The parking is kinda tight and fills up quickly. They have two drive throughs, the left one is for doughnuts and the right one is for everything else.

Tacos are very good! Great selection too. Expect a line when you come. You walk in and order at the register, they will call your # when your food is ready. The bathrooms are old and could be kept better but the food is tasty! The first place where I've ever been able to order a toasted bean and cheese taco. Tried the papa ranchera w/bacon and country sausage w/beans. My girls had potato and egg and bacon and egg. Don't forget your donuts!!! Definitely coming back again.

The best donut shop in San Antonio...period!! Arrive early because there will be a line and they do sell out. Bakers start making the donuts from scratch every morning at 2am. Frosting and fillings are also made from scratch. Apple fritters are a must try.
